A Framework for Analyzing the Family Urbanization of China from a “Culture–Institution” Perspective

There is a growing number of studies on the phenomenon urbanization and family migration in China, but there lack corresponding underlying logical constructs to explain patterns phenomenon. Based development Western theories, it proposed that traditional which are purely based economic dynamics, insufficient characteristic Chinese household urbanization, theories usually ignore role family-oriented cultural concepts. Through theoretical review summary characteristics phenomenon, we propose an analytical framework “culture–institution”, ethical concepts represented by orientation intergenerational upbringing ideological basis urbanization. In this process, China’s registration system land have resulted coexistence multiple stages such as moving city, city stages, back city.
